A Special Poem About the
Franklin Elementary School Leaders Club*
We've worked with your child and
helped her to learn,
We're returning her now but we want you to know -
This child is precious,
as dear as can be -
Love her, take care of her,
and you will see
a brighter child with every day.
In September she was just so little;
midyear a starter; now a lovely child growing up so fast.
We're returning her to you with a poem
written by heart.
Remember this child, as dear as can be -
though rightfully yours, a part will stay with me.
Just remember to help this child grow big and strong.

* The Leaders Club at Franklin is a group of fifth-graders who help our Kindergarten students in the morning, at lunch and at the end of the school day. As you can see by this poem, written by a Leaders Club member, the students involved in this project develop a special bond with each other.
Our fifth-grade Leaders love to be helpful role models, and our Kindergartners enjoy having an older friend who looks out for them.
