THE BINGHAMTON CITY SCHOOLS FOUNDATION
The Binghamton City Schools Foundation was formed in 2005, with the goal of providing enriched programs and activities within the Binghamton City School district's seven elementary schools, two middle schools and one high school.
By funding grants to teachers and staff, the Foundation offers a way for students to experience innovative and creative programs and activities that fall outside the district's budgetary reach. This approach has proven to be very effective throughout the nation.
The best learning takes place in an environment that allows the student to take an active role; i.e., "learning by doing." Museums visits, field trips, special projects and activities and other hands-on experiences have powerful and long-reaching effects on students. Yet many of these opportunities are not possible without extra financial resources. The Binghamton City Schools Foundation can provide the extra funding to make these exciting opportunities a reality for our children.

"There is a place in America to take a stand: it is public education. It is the underpinning of our cultural and political system. It is the great common ground. Public education after all is the engine that moves us as a society toward a common destiny...
...It is in public education that the American dream begins to take shape."
